Quality Standards for Wood Doors

  • Machining of all parts: +/- 0.5 mm tolerance

  • Cracking - not allowed

  • Chipping - no noticeable chipping on visible surfaces

  • Dents - not allowed

  • Laminations in centre panel - 38 mm (1.5”) - 102 mm (4”) in width with smaller strips kept to the outside

  • Putty repair - areas no greater than 2 mm in width and 5 mm in length will be allowed

Tolerances

Warp

  • 1mm (1/16”) allowed on rails or stiles measuring 45.7 cm (18”)

  • 2mm (3/32”) allowed on rails or stiles measuring 46 cm – 102 cm

  • 3mm (1/8”) allowed on rails or stiles measuring longer than 102 cm

Twist

  • Twist on doors measuring 56 cm X 122 cm (22” X 44”) or equivalent will not exceed 3 mm

  • (1/8”) – doors exceeding that measurement will not have twist exceeding 4mm (3/16”)
